May 2015 A Box Indied, Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

Today I have the May exclusive polishes from Llarowe's A Box, Indied (just barely getting them posted in the month of May).  As previously mentioned, Llarowe in an online indie stockist which has a monthly subscription box.  The box's theme was "May The Fourth Be With You" and took inspiration from Star Wars.  The box is still available for single month purchase.

Now let's get to some swatches.

First up is Luke, I Am Your Father from Colors By Llarowe.  When you think of the name what comes to mind?  Darth Vader?  The dark side?  Luke, I Am Your Father is a black holo....but not just any black holo....a black holo with black micro glitter.  It went on smooth and easy.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is the polish from Glisten and Glow called Saber This!  Saber This! is a blue crelly with purple and blue iridescent micro flecks.  This polish also glows in the dark.  I apologize for the dim glow in the dark photo, still working on figuring out the ideal settings on my camera.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next up is Different Dimension's contribution to the box called Saber That.  Saber That is a light green crelly with iridescent yellow, blue and purple glitters along with holo rainbow dust.  This polish also glows, however I was not able to get a glow show due to it being quite dim.  The formula on this polish was bit thick so application was slightly difficult.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

One of my favorites of the box is from Girly Bits Cosmetics called I Like Big Buns (LOVE THE NAME!).  This polish is inspired by Princess Leia's hair.  It is a brown polish with gold, purple and amber micro flecks.  I love this combination, especially with matte top coat!  Formula was perfect and photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st and 2nd photos) and matte top coat (3rd photos).

The other favorite of the box is from Contrary Polish and called Slavegirl Bikini.  This red glitter jelly contains light pink and gold micro flecks.  As with all Contrary Polishes, they MUST BE MATTIFIED!  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th photos) and matte top coat (5th and 6th photos).

Matte Top Coat: Polish Matte'rs from www.girlybitscosmetics.com

Loves:   LOVE I Like Big Buns from Girly Bits Cosmetics and Contrary Polish's Slavegirl Bikini.  The use of the micro flecks in these polishes really made them stand out.  The theme was super adorable and any Star Wars nerd should definitely add a few of these to their collection.

Wishes:  I wish the formula was a bit more friendly on the Different Dimension so that I was able to capture a glow in the dark photo.

Which is your favorite?

3 Empties: Fortune Cookie Soap Company Whipped Soap, Bath Bomb and Solid Bubble Bath

Greetings and Nailutations,

It's another installment of 3 empties, where I review 3 products I have used up and express my opinion on how well they worked, how well they smelled, their packaging and if I'd make a repeat purchase.

This time all 3 products will be from Fortune Cookie Soap Company...and I apologize for no photos, I thought I took some, but evidently I deleted them off my phone.  All scents were from the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Collection.

The first is a Solid Bubble Bath in the scent of Moose Mug.  It was sweet smelling and created a decent amount of bubbled.  It did dissolve quite quickly under running water and the sweet aroma was soothing.

Smell Test:  sweet, like egg nog
Feel Test Bubbles...nothing better than feeling bubbles!
Packaging Test:  Came as a soap bar in a wax paper bag.
Buy Again:  Yes, I am excited to try some other scents.

The next product I used up from Fortune Cookie Soap Company was Whipped Soap in the scent of Fried Pussycat.   This was also part of the winter box, so the scents are inspired by National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  The scent was soft and warm, like cookies.  Who knew fried pussycat could smell so good?!

Smell Test: warm and perfect for fall/winter
Feel or Look Test: texture was a bit soft, I prefer foam soap or hard soap, so this was new
Packaging: came in a small sample size twist off little tub, it was difficult to use the product without it getting stuck under my finger nails.
Buy Again:  because I prefer foam and hard solid soap, I will pass on trying this type of product again, but I did love the scent

The last product was a bath bomb in the scent of Bend Over & I'll Show You.  This scent smelled good, but the major drawback I saw was that it didn't dissolve completely and it was dark green so green particulates were left ALL over the bath when it was drained.  It also left particulates on my body as well as glitter....and typically after a bath, I shouldn't need to feel like I need to shower to clean myself off.

Smell Test: clean fresh scent
Feel or Look Test: left the tub and I both looking green...and glittery!
Packaging: came in a wax paper bag
Buy Again: no thank you...No more bath bombs that require clean up after use...I'd rather come away with

Can you tell I am becoming obsessed with Fortune Cookie Soap Company?

ZR's Polish Behati Collection Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations!

*Gift/Prize*
I was very lucky last month and ended up winning the entire Behati Collection from ZR's Polish in her giveaway.  I was excited for a few reasons.  First, ZR's Polish is a brand I haven't tried yet and second, the colors of this collection looked amazing.  Let's just say shimmer, shimmer shimmer!!

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Thumper, a vibrant purple shimmer polish.  Formula was easy to work with and applied easily.  If I had to pick a favorite (which is very hard since I really love a few) this would have to be the top because...well purple.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is Candy, a soft orange shimmer polish.  I love how pleasing this orange is...many times people are turned off by orange because it is kind of a misfit color, but this color is gorgeous and a close second runner up in my favorites in this collection.  I was impressed that it only took 2 coats for total opacity, which is what the photos show along with a shiny top coat.

Whisper is the green shimmer polish.  For all the green lovers out there, this softness in a green is amazing.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Another favorite is Sparkle, the pretty pink shimmer polish.  Sparkle was a a little different than the others because it is a pink polish, but with blue iridescent shimmer.  I loved that surprise in the light.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Bubbles is a bright blue shimmer polish.  Bubbles almost looks "cartoony" in the light.  It gives such a cool effect.  Bubbles also had great formula.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The last polish in the collection is Lemon Drop, the yellow shimmer polish.  Lemon Drop is the perfect sunny yellow polish to brighten anyones day.  Photos show 2 coats for total opacity with shiny top coat.

Shiny top coat: Gem Glam Top Coat from www.dreampolish.com

Loves:  I love that the entire collection contains shimmer polishes.  In the bottle and when first applying, they seemed a lot more sheer, however each color only needed 2 coats for total opacity - a great surprise.  The formula on all were perfect!  Another love is that ZR's Polish has both 3-free and 5-free polish, so that they don't contain some of the harsh chemicals that can be found in polish.

Wishes: I would love to see ZR's Polish take on black and grey shimmers!  I am really happy to have been able to try this brand and very thankful for the giveaway!  THANK YOU!
